CALL FOR INNOVATORS AND SPONSORS

MAY 10TH, 2018 | 15:00 – 18:00 in Praga A | KRAKOW, POLAND

What is true innovation in advanced wound care? Where will you find it? Innovation in advanced wound care will go through various phases of maturation and eventually, all development will lead to available products for therapeutic use and commercialization.

The Advanced Wound Care Innovation Symposium aims at identifying the most innovative developments in advanced wound care.

This symposium gives start-ups and early stage companies a platform to present their innovations to a room of wound care experts. In addition to presentations, this year’s symposium will feature a KOL panel discussion on the critical factor of Health Economics and Outcome Research  in bringing new wound care therapies to market.

Attending the symposium will give you a chance to participate in the HEOR panel discussion and ask your questions to global leaders in the HEOR field. After the panel, there will be time to network with the presenters, thought-leaders, entrepreneurs, clinical scientists, and executives of leading global wound care and pharmaceutical companies during the cocktail reception. If you are planning to attend EWMA this year, this certainly is a can’t miss Symposium.

PRESENTING COMPANIES

Aurealis Pharma AG

Aurealis Pharma AG is a biopharmaceutical company based in Finland and Switzerland. They have developed an innovative wound healing therapy which, by using genetically modified lactic acid bacteria produces multiple therapeutic proteins and antibodies in the diseased tissue on a continuous basis. Therapeutic efficacy has been shown on fibroblast migration, macrophage activity, and angiogenesis.

Next Science Group

Next Science Group based in Australia, is following a unique, unprecedented approach to eradicate biofilm bacteria with a proprietary, non-toxic technology that disrupts the bio-film’s extracellular polymeric substance (EPS) matrix. Their most current development, a breakthrough antimicrobial wound gel, is powered by this patented technology. It deconstructs the bacterial biofilm EPS matrix, destroys bacteria within the gel, and defends from recolonization while maintaining a moist wound environment.

SastoMed GmbH

SastoMed GmbH based in Germany has developed a hemoglobin-based wound spray, which can be used easily in everyday wound healing treatment as an adjunct to the current Standard of Care. The product improves tissue oxygenation by means of facilitated diffusion. A large body of peer-reviewed publications already available show the significant potential this product could have on for example healing times, recurrence, wound pain, and total cost of treatment.

Otivio AS

Otivio AS, a privately-owned company based in Oslo, Norway, are addressing peripheral arterial disease with pulsating negative pressure applied locally, directly on the skin. This therapeutic approach increases blood flow, most likely due to the fact that the pulsating nature of the negative pressure applied avoids constrictive veno-arterial reflexes. Clinical studies have shown positive results.
